A professional level simulation of the C172R used for flight training in certified devices the world over, now available for your desktop flight simulator computer.
If any aeroplane ever deserved to be called “classic”, then the venerable and ubiquitous Cessna 172 in all of its many variations surely deserves that title. It is a time-tested benchmark of aircraft efficiency, utility and excellence; it is one of the most recognizable aeroplanes (although sometimes mistaken for its larger and more powerful brother, the Cessna 182/Skylane and vice versa); its value has been and continues to be well-established and constant. The Cessna 172 has endured going- on six decades, and is an undisputedly traditional design. Classic? Q.E.D..

I would give it 6 stars if I could! I know this add-on came out quite a while ago, but it in my opinion still stands tall on the podium for add-on aircraft available for any simulator. This is not just an aircraft, but a living simulation of a 172 that will make you pay for any mistreatment! I’ve had this aircraft for about 2 years and recently started my PPL training in similar 172s, and it’s shocking to me how spot on it feels to the real thing. It’s allowed me to keep procedures and some skills current even when I can’t fly for a few weeks. It’s turned the 172 into one of my favorite aircraft for any occasion, and I can’t highly recommend it enough!

I am a late comer to the C172 and it is very much my loss! In fact it’s the last aircraft type I got which is the wrong way round I know but the wait was worth it. As with all A2A aircraft, this is a very faithful representation of the real thing and she flies beautifully. With the addition of PBR the finish on the aircraft is stunning. In fact I have fallen in love with this C172 so much that it has prompted me to go back to basics and practise basic skills in her.

This is absolutely amazing! I have all of these A2A planes but only am now learning about their extensive feature sets.

I have been flying sims since the mid 80’s and have tried almost every platform developed in the GA industry. I have to say this is hands down the best GA 172 model I have flown that’s available for home simulation. I’ve been flying A2A’s C172 for 3 years now and I’ve never been more addicted to an aircraft as this. Sure this is just a C172, but this is the iconic trainer that all development companies hope to master in their GA fleet. A2A has done just that; they have mastered this aircraft to fly and respond just as in real life. Every function of the plane is modeled to precise detail. The radios and avionics all function and respond just as they do in real life. To top it off, when you buy an A2A plane, you aren’t just buying a plane for your simulator. You are also joining a community made of enthusiasts who are dedicated to the immersion feeling you get when you fly an A2A plane. People who are always looking for ways to expand that immersion and keep the planes updated with the new technology. After 3 years of flying this beauty, I still fly this plane several times a week and find myself taking care of it just as you would with a real aircraft. I’m almost positive you will certainly enjoy this aircraft and any other aircraft from the A2A team. Happy Flying!!!

One of the best purchases I ever made for flight sim. I bought this years ago and it’s still my favorite. Just bought the A2A Comanche and loving it as well. Glad to see the new website and new store. The old was really in need of replacement. Couple A2A’s GA aircraft with a VR headset and enjoy pure bliss. Once you see it in VR and see the truly remarkable 3D gauges you’ll be blown away. I’m happily (and finally) going for flight training to get my PPL and soon after, IFR (I hope). Great to use this to recap my day’s lessons. I only wish A2A would slightly lower their prices or at least have more sales. You certainly do get what you pay for, but it’s a review and that’s my opinion.

Beautifull product. Extremely accurate and it´s feel so real, like the real aircraft. A2A is amazing even on the small details and for sure I will buy anothers A2A birds.

For the very first time, I bought an A2A plane in which I had real life experience (I even flew in F-GOAP pictured here !).
And without having an exceptional knowledge in aerodynamics, this made me realize firsthand the overall quality of A2A products in general. I was very quickly able to notice that all I loved and hated about this plane was faithfully simulated. The first GA plane made by A2A was already a masterpiece. Keep em coming !

If you want to be a pilot you must first get bored flying Cessna.
If you’re already bored then only with an A2A plane.
The accuracy of the representation is amazing.
Well done.

This was my second accu-sim plane but first review. The first being the Comanche but after getting the Comanche I felt it was better for me to start off with the basics and really enjoy the attention to detail. This offering is considered a trainer and that is exactly what it will do. It will train you to read the manual and understand why things are done a specific way. Think you know the proper way to start the 172…well you might not and a flooded engine will be your “reward”. Like to run the engine rich all the time…perhaps some fouled spark plugs are in your future. Treat the plane poorly and there will be consequences for that as well. Perhaps not this flight or the next but keep doing it and you may find yourself running through your emergency checklist for a failure. Even little things like lowering the RPMS too low where the battery isn’t being properly charged and watch the lights dim. Everything on this offering is beautifully modeled from looks to system and flight model accuracy. Don’t worry, the manual for the C172 is fantastic and the system gives plenty of easily accessible options so you can get involved and as authentic as you would like. This is a great classic plane that everyone should have in their hangar for when they want to get back to the basics or start their flight sim career off.

I have more than 200 hours as a CFII in c172R & S models. A2A is a brand of excellence and this rendition of a c172 is truly “as real as it gets.”

What can I say, if you want a sim to assist (but not totally cover) real world flight training , then this is it. Particularly for processes and procedures. Well done A2A.

I had to wait a couple of years… no one had developed a ‘as realistic as it gets’ model of the Cessna 172, in some more detail the Cessna 172R/172S. Some time ago A2A (the A-team as I use to say – ) has very successful accomplished this mission! It would take the lenght of a typical reference book, so I simplify it and recommend reading some of the books instead of describe all here again.
But one small detail I’ll nevertheless list it here so you can imagine how realistic it is all in all. So: If you (and your passengers) are sitting in the airplane it may very realistic occur that the inner side of the windows get steamy and you have to open the door/window etc. Some user were not aware of this feature and called support not knowing that this is a realistic feature, not a bug!
So all I can additionally say is: Thanks to A2A for giving this bird in our hands.
