You might be wondering why a slow and old J-3 Cub has to be an addition to your virtual hangar (and maybe to your real hangar too) and the simple answer is because it is a joy to fly.
It does not matter if you’re new to flight simulation or a veteran, you’ll find this A2A J-3 Cub with the characteristics that any good add-on airplane must have:

-A great manual where you’ll not only find technical information but also anecdotes that help you understand the man and the machine.
-Ridiculous attention to detail which immerses you in the art of flying.

I’d forgotten the enjoyment to be had in just floating around the circuit or aimlessly exploring some scenery. Don’t let the apparent simplicity put you off, this is a refreshing antidote to the more sophisticated IFR aircraft many of us spend most of our simming time in.

I do wish there was a super cub option, the option to sit in the front seat, and an option for an updated panel. But overall it’s an okay addition to the hanger.

I do wish we could have more options on clothing for Heidi since it seems a little silly to be wearing a light sleeveless shirt in colder weather. The interactions with her during flights is entertaining and really does give a reason to fly the cub instead of any other A2A planes.

While the gauges are a bit tough to read in VR (not the planes fault, its just how sitting in the back seat works, and the nature of current tech VR in December of 2020 is) it is absolutely amazing to hop in a plane that requires much more focus on stick and rudder along with energy management and take it up for some fun blush flying. I can easily recommend it to anyone not only looking to do some bush flying, but anyone who wants to get better at pure piloting. 10 out of 10. great job as usual A2A!

The J-3 (FSX) was my first A2A aircraft, and it felt just like the J-3 Cub that I got a ride in at Half Moon Bay airport one summer afternoon back in the ’60s. My hangar is now complete. Well, until A2A comes out with something else. Now I’m going to plan some fun flights for my pals in the A2A Misfits MP Squadron. STOL Drags, anyone?
