Bonanza in P3DV5.4

Post Heronjr »

Hi,

I've just upgraded to P3DV5.4 and the first aircraft tested was the A2A Bonanza. I noted my avionics state confused, radios and the altitude selector did not come to life. Any thoughts?

Did you restart the flight in case of a load error preventing power to the avionics?

thanks,

Hi Lewis,

No, I did not restart the flight. I will retry tonight without reinstalling the Bonanza. If the issue persists, I'll reinstall the plane. In any case, the results will be reported here later.

Thanks, and regards

Hi,

Unfortunately, my attempt to fly the Bonanza in P3D V5.4 failed after restarting the simulator. Turning on the avionics switch, the radios, altitude selector, and RXP Garmin GTN 750 refused to turn on. It seems a electric issue. Funny is that some instruments, as the compass system, responded when the avionics was turned on.

Note: The RXP Garmin 750 2D panel is working. The unity in the panel does not come alive.

I've tested the Blackbird KA350 and she had no problems in the V5.4. All the addon resources I have as Ezdok, SpadNext, ActiveSky and Orbx scenery and library were used in both tests.

Good day,

FYI, the A2A Cessna 182 is showing exactly the same problem.

Also, I've found some graphic inconsistencies loading other non-A2A aircraft, for instance, things are all okay during a whole session with the KA350, and in the next session, the same aircraft appears with strange artifacts on the panel, switches out of place and with bigger size.

Otherwise some more users manifest the same or similar problems, I'm starting to regret installing V5.4, while LM has just launched P3DV6. And I know that if I'm the only one showing the error, the problem is certainly in my rig and/or installation.

Hi Lewis,

I uninstalled and removed all traces of the Bonanza as A2A recommended in another post.

I entered in P3D, exit it, and restarted the computer.

I reinstalled the Bonanza and loaded her. The avionics did not respond after engines were on.

I reset her, and loaded again. Then this time the avionics worked and everything was on, radios, GTN, etc.

Exited P3D and loaded it again. The Bonanza avionics did not work at first.

QUESTION: Will I have to reset this airplane every time I want to fly her?

Hello,

what is your default flight in P3D?

It could be your default flight causing issues on initial load.

Hi,

My default flight is THE SAME as was in P3Dv5.3 and the other older versions, that is the default P3D F-22. I was having no problems loading A2A, Milviz, PMDG and other 3rd party aircraft.

How I load my favorite aircraft:

I start P3D and wait for the first screen showing the F-22 turning around her axis.

Then I LOAD one of my favorites which are in the list saved months or years ago.

Choose an airport, adjust the time UTC and, that's it.

Very strange, maybe just in case reset the default flight. Maybe also check your mods as it sounds like something if doing something strange on that initial load.

thanks

Hi,

Checking "mods". Highly suspicious: RXP GTN750.

Last night, loaded the F-22 (with the default engines and electrics on), and changed the aircraft for the Bonanza C&D. Then, after engines on, turning on the avionics, everything came to life, except the GTN750. This is exactly the contrary of what happened before, when only the GTN750 came to life.

Even crazy, I will be back!

Hi,

After some nights of pure stressing tests, I came to the conclusion that there is in fact some hidden issue between P3D V5.4 and A2A avionics. I don't discard problems in my rig, but this is not the first time I make an upgrade in P3D, all of them successful, at least, with electrical problems.

I've uninstalled RXP GTN750, the Bonanza, and reinstalled initially ONLY the A2A aircraft, without GTN 750. The first time I turned on the engine, the avionics failed to turn on radios and the altitude selector. Resetting the flight, things are normal again. But, if I restart P3D, I have to reset the flight again. So, RXP GTN is not the culprit.

In the meantime, I've discovered interesting things, as we can install the RXP GTN750 In the Bonanza without changing any configuration files, as the RXP manual says in a complicated language. You have just to maintain the default GPS 400, load the aircraft and call the RXP GTN installer from the Add-ons Menu. Then, you choose to auto-detect and change the default 400 for the GTN 750, same size, etc. After the operation, go to the Bonanza mini panel and change the GPS button for the GTN 750. Redimension the window and you're done. Both VC and 2D panels should be fully working. But, please, start from square one, with the Bonanza completely uninstalled and without it's older files and folders.

I must say also that the upgrade worths the effort, mainly in terms of performance and some CTD resolutions.

I still didn't find any post about this subject and I'm really concerned about this and anxious to hear from anyone with the new 5.4. I believe that this should be some new option or hidden parameter that must be adjusted.

Hello,

one thing to check also would be if you installed 5.4 as a new install or used the P3D upgrade option, as P3D upgrades in the past have caused issues.

thanks,
