I have found a method to assign joystick buttons to controls within the cockpit that can normally only be operated with the mouse. The P40 only has a few.
First for an explanation on how this works see this thread in the P47 Accusim section, its long so thats why im not repeating it!

For the P51 use the Macros below and create a file as per the P47 explanation. Call it 3P40.MCRO
The 3 will mean that these controls are near the front of the list ( I have used 1,2 and 4 for other planes).
[MACROS]
1=L:PropellerSwitchMode=SET
2=L:PropellerSwitchVis=SET
3=L:PropellerSwitchCircut=SET
4=L:CompassLight=SET
5=L:GunSightSwitchOff=SET
6=L:GunCharge1=SET
7=L:GunCharge2=SET
8=L:GunCharge3=SET
9=L:GunCharge4=SET
10=L:GunCharge5=SET
11=L:GunCharge6=SET
12=L:HydrHandPump=SET
13=L:CabinVent=SET
14=L:GunSightCoverClosed=SET
15=L:PrestoneTest=SET
16=L:KlaxonTest=SET
17=L:OilDilute0=SET
18=L:FuelGageLight=SET
19=L:TriggerModeP40=SET
20=L:OxyAltSet=SET
Most have parameters of 0,1. OxyAltSet is 0-100 as is Cabin vent.
I have only experimented a little with the first three commands, the propellor set ones but havent got them working quite right. Try combinations of parameters 0,1 and 2
Enjoy!
Assigning Joystic commands to controls
Re: Assigning Joystic commands to controls
I have written an explanation on how to create your own macro files for any aircraft or amend this one.
